Tractor Extensions

In recent years, C & C Machining & Engineering has undertaken extensive development work, with the help and enthusiastic support of local farmers, to devise ways of modifying tractor widths in order to accommodate controlled traffic farming methods. The following photographs show some of the results of these modifications.

A John Deere 8400 with seederJohn Deere 8400 series tractor widened to 3 meters between wheel centers. For more information on John Deer tractors, visit Vanderfields Toowoomba web site at www.vanderfield.com.au This modification will also suit older style 8000 Series tractors and currently, development work for modifications to the latest 7000 and 8000 front axle is under way.

JCB Fastrac modified for 3 meter centers The JCB Fastrac shown here was also modified for 3 meter centers. Axle extensions were required in both the front and rear.

Case IH MX 240 Magnum Our most recent modification has been to the Case IH MX 240 Magnum shown below. This tractor required extensions to be welded into the front axle, similar to the JCB Fastrac. This procedure would also suit the MX270 and a similar modification has been devised for the Ford New Holland series of front wheel assist tractors.
